Elgon Cup second leg Tomorrow
Uganda v Kenya 4:30pm
Kyadondo Rugby Club
KENYA has included world class sevens players Humphrey Kayange and Collins Injera for the Elgon Cup return leg.
Centre Kayange and his brother Injera (winger) were in the United Kingdom when Kenya triumphed over Uganda 30-22 in Nairobi two weeks ago.
The brothers who are prominent figures in the IRB Sevens Circuit in which Kenya features, are in the 22-man squad that arrived yesterday for their encounter against the Uganda Rugby Cranes at Kyadondo tomorrow.
Rugby Cranes coach Yayiro Kasasa was unfazed by Kenya’s move to beef up their squad.
“It’s good to face a full strength Kenyan team to gauge ourselves properly. I am confident we will win this game,†Kasasa remarked.
Kasasa pointed out that his kickers Joel Anguyo, Anthony Kinene and Joel Kimuli were in good shape.
“We missed 11 kickable points in Nairobi, we could have won that game,†Kasasa remarked at a strategy breakfast hosted by Western Union at Kyadondo yesterday.
The Kenyan women team also jetted in yesterday with coach Sammy Kemmey saying they are in Kampala to pick up the Elgon Cup.
The Kenyan women defeated their Ugandan counterparts 38-5. “We forgot the big home margin. We are here for a win,†said Kemmey.
