THE Eastern Africa University Games local organising committee was on the back foot yesterday, after rain washed out most of the afternoon encounters.
With many of the games outdoors, the committee could do little as officials and players scampered for shelter at the various venues.
“The rules are clear and we shall apply them,†explained Patrick Ssebuliba, the National University Sports Federations in Uganda secretary.
According to the games rules and regulations, the teams will have to play the remaining time of their scheduled action.
Among the games that were abandoned was the soccer match between UCU and University of Nairobi in Mukono.
Ugandan universities were still on top in the preliminaries, taking place at Namboole, Mukono, Kyambogo and Makerere University Business School grounds.
