THE education ministry is investigating all schools linked to embattled Pastor Elijah Ssemugabi.
The acting director of the education standards agency, Huzaifah Mutazindwa, said Sumugabi’s actions were suspicious and there was need for a quick intervention by the inspectorate of education.
“The schools linked to his activities will be immediately inspected and a report filed,†Mutazindwa said.
About two weeks ago, the Police arrested Ssemugabi over criminal trespass. His troubles started when he delivered about 184 students to All Saints College near the Mpoma satellite in Mukono district, but the school rejected the students.
It was during the stand-off which followed, that the Police intervened.
Days after his arrest, students of All Saints College School in Mukono were expelled when they attempted to strike to protest Ssemugabi’s arrest.
The Police said Ssemugabi was also being investigated over allegations of child trafficking.
There are reports that the children were part of the 1,000 who were allegedly promised free education.
Police spokesperson Judith Nabakooba said Ssemugabi would be investigated over obtaining money fraudulently and uttering false documents.
