DUNCAN Mugabe and Edwin Ekiring will be rewarded on Saturday for dominating their individual sports last season. Mugabe put Ugandan tennis back on the African map with several splendid displays which included winning a East African junior circuit title.
The 17-year-old also grabbed bronze at the Africa Junior championships.
Ekiring, 24, returns for a sixth straight year as badmintonâ€™s top player. He won bronze in both the All Africa Games in Algiers and Africa badminton championships.
Mugabe and Ekiring will highlight the individual award winners at the uganda telecom-USPA Sportsman of the year gala at Lugogo.
The naming of the sports personality of 2007 â€” from David Obua, Moses Kipsiro, Susan Muwonge, Ugandaâ€™s cricket and rugby teams â€” will climax the occasion.
