FUFA president Lawrence Mulindwa has ruled out the possibility of an African taking up the Cranes coaching job.
He says their immediate target is a European most likely from Germany.
“No African,†Mulindwa stated on Friday.
The revelations will be a major set-back for former Nigerian head coach Christian Chukwu who had shown interest in occupying the vacant Cranes seat.
Chukwu hoped to replace Cranes’ run-away coach Laszlo Csaba, who vacated the position early this month to take over at Scottish outfit Hearts FC.
Soccer governing body FUFA, who begun their relentless search for a new manager a fortnight ago, have since received over 20 applications for the job.
“He (the coach) has to come from Europe,†he added.
FUFA’s technical committee divulged recently that two Ugandans had also applied for the job.
