SIR –On July 17, Jeniffer Adong quoted Maj. Paddy Ankunda out of context. Ankunda, on WBS’s Issues at Hand said that President Museveni has paid a great price politically by losing votes in northern Uganda.
This is in itself is true, but he was trying to explain that the president had no political motive not to end the war. I want to assure Adong that the President values the lives of the people in the north.
He is totally committed to the peace process not because of the loss of votes but because the people of northern Uganda should be given a chance to live meaningful lives like the rest of Ugandans.
