USE’s turnover increases to sh179m

BUOYED by increased activity on the dfcu counter, sh179m was realised in turnover at the Uganda Securities Exchange (USE) in the week to Thursday, from sh0.8m last Thursday.

BUOYED by increased activity on the dfcu counter, sh179m was realised in turnover at the Uganda Securities Exchange (USE) in the week to Thursday, from sh0.8m last Thursday.
Yesterday, dfcu was the only active counter, bagging sh176m after trading 505,000 shares at sh350 each, a sh15 drop in the share price from sh365 last Thursday.
British American Tobacco offered each share at sh735, Baroda sh830, East African Breweries sh3,470, Kenya Airways sh1,607, New Vision sh205 and Uganda Clays sh12,000.
On Tuesday, dfcu bagged sh3.2m after trading 8,910 shares at sh360 each.
However, the all share index dropped to 657.52 points from last Thursday’s 731.91 mark due to a decline in the share price of various companies.
