I was particularly impressed by the way some school policies conditioned students to make the best out of the holidays. This prompted me to ask a few students why they were reading more than they used to.
Some pointed out the issue of having tests a day or so after they have reported. Others stressed have to do exams at the beginning of the term.

  • Firstly, this technique improves on the student’s reading habit/culture.

  • With this inculcation, no student would perceive reading as a burden but as an obligation.

  • It reduces idleness in holiday makers and controls moral decadence in students who succumb to peer pressure.

  • It conditions students to go through the day with an activity schedule.

  • This technique works as one of the strongest remedies for idleness.
