TEN years ago, Roselyn Atim left the country as a nobody. When she returned on Wednesday, she was accorded a reception only reserved for pop-stars.
The roar of airplane engines at Entebbe International Airport was punctuated with high-pitched ululation and dancing from about 50 family members of the London-based Ugandan singer.
Accompanied by her producer Ashley Dublin, Atim is slated to hold two charity concerts at Lugogo Stadium, Kampala on December 20 and Pece Stadium, Gulu on New Year’s eve.
“I’m happy to be back in Uganda. I’m ready to give the best to my Ugandan fans. I will make them sing, dance and laugh,†she said.
Her mother, Julia Atim, welcomed her daughter with an Acholi song ‘Wan wajolo wello wa doo’.
