TRADITIONAL herbalists have been warned against administering injections of herbal medicine to patients, reports Patrick Oyee in Lira. Zaidi Mwondha, the northern region inspector of drugs in the National Drug Authority, said it was illegal for herbalists to do that. He recently said anybody found doing so would be arrested and prosecuted. Mwodha said under the law, traditional herbalists are barred from advertising in the media the various diseases they claim to cure. He said advertising that they cure certain diseases like syphilis, gonorrhea, diabetes, heart disease, leprosy, epilepsy, cancer and others, was prohibited.
