WOMEN MURDERS IN WAKISO
Six men accused of kidnapping and murdering two women were on Friday charged before the Law Development Centre (LDC) court.
The men, including a traditional healer identified as Ali Ddumba Ssalongo and another, Herbert Lukwago, suspected to be dealing in human organs, were not allowed to plead to the charges.
Others are Kamanda Mugabe, John Bosco Olwo, Frank Ssendi and Brian Kaaya.
The suspects appeared before LDC Grade One Magistrate Roseline Nsenga, who did not allow them to plead to the charges, saying they are faced with capital offences only triable by the High Court.
“This court has no powers to try you. Therefore, you are only required to listen to the charges and understand them,” Nsenga said.
State attorney Rose Kiprorah informed court that investigations are still ongoing, prompting the Magistrate to remand them until July 11 when they will re-appear in court.
