Vianne Sekajugo was the hero of the day as Onduparaka beat URA 1-0 away at Namboole.

Despite scoring the only goal for Onduparaka, Forte bet man of the match was a threat to the URA defense. The victory took Onduparaka to the sixth position with 25 points.

“Our target was to finish with 25 which we have done,” said Leo Adraa, Onduparaka’s head of technical.

The defeat saw URA drop from the sixth to the seventh position at 20 points. This was also the debut game for Coach Paul Nkata who joined URA early this week after replacing Ibrahim Kirya who was sacked on Tuesday.  However, Kirya was on Friday evening introduced as the Mbarara City coach.

Elsewhere, Forte bet man of the match William Kibi inspired Maroons to 1-0 win over BUL at Luzira. Kibi also walked away with cash prize of sh100, 000.

This initiative was introduced by the league organizers, Uganda Premier League in conjunction with a betting firm known as Forte bet to improve on the competition among teams.

At Kavumba, Forte bet man of the match Willy Kavuma notched a double as Soana beat Police 2-1 while Rueben Kimera scored a consolation for Police.

In Mbarara, goalkeeper Ali Kimera’s heroic saves were the reason behind why he was named the Forte bet man of the match as Mbarara City defeated Masavu 1-0. Brian Ahebwa was on target for Mbarara City.

At Bombo, Forte bet man of the match Sulaiman Manjanjalo did all the donkey work as UPDF beat Bright Stars 2-1. Fahad Bardiro and Robert Nakyenalire each had a goal for the Army side while Ashraf Kawadwa scored for Bright Stars.

Meanwhile, the league will resume tomorrow with three matches.
