The High Court in Kampala is expected to deliver its verdict in the case where city businessman Andrew Kananura alias Desh and four others are accused of killing one Badru Kateregga.
This comes after court assessors last week advised court to acquit Kananura alongside his brother Raymond Kananura, Cyrus Maganda, and Samuel Muzolewo.
The assessors advised court presided over by Judge Joseph Murangira to acquit the accused on grounds that prosecution evidence is riddled with contradictions.
The accused were represented by Godfrey Nagumya and Alex Tumuhibise.
However, the assessors found that one of the co-accused, Jacob Onyanyo participated in Kateregga’s murder and asked court to convict him of the offence.
Prosecution led by Jane Kajuga Okuo alleges that the accused on September 30, 2012, allegedly tortured Kateregga to death after they found him with sh30,000 in tips; exceeded the allowed amount to be held by any worker at Panamera Bar.
She was assisted by Alice Komuhangi Khauka.
