Police in Kyenjojo district have arrested a 50 year old man suspected of killing his wife.
The suspect has been identified as Agello Byensi a resident of Kitoma village in Bufunjo Sub-County Kyenjojo district.
According to Lydia Tumushabe, the Rwenzori Region police spokesperson, the suspect killed his wife Margret Tumusabe, 48 on Monday night.
It is alleged that Byensi killed his wife by strangling her after she refused to cook the meat which he had brought at home at night.
Tumushabe revealed that the two went drinking together during the day in Kitoma trading centre but the wife left earlier to find the children.
However hours later, Byensi also returned home and found his wife and children asleep.
He woke them up and requested the wife, to cook for him the meat, but the wife refused which annoyed Byensi.
Tumushabe says the children made an alarm which alerted the neighbour who came to rescue the woman but they found her already dead.
Byensi will be charged with murder, when produced in court.
