With less than a month to the investiture of lawmakers in the tenth parliament, Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga, has told MPs-elect not to ferry throngs of their supporters because they will not be allowed inside the precincts of parliament.

MPs-elect are set to get sworn in on 16th, 17th and 18th of May as Uganda's most bloated parliament kick starts its tenure.

"During the swearing in of MPs-elect, only five people will accompany you. Do not bring busloads of your supporters because they will not be allowed on the podium," Kadaga told lawmakers during Wednesday's plenary session.

At previous functions, MPs-elect have normally ferried busloads of supporters to their investiture, clogging the precincts of parliament, National Theater and Siad Bare Road.
