APAC district plans to spend more than sh17b on development activities in the 2009/10 financial year. District planner Alfred Pele Enon disclosed the plan while addressing a budget conference last Friday.
Pele said the funds included conditional grants for water and sanitation, graduated tax compensation.
He urged the sub-counties to identify more local revenue sources in order to ensure effective and prompt implementation of their budgets.
Pele also urged stakeholders to participate in deepening decentralisation and addressing the problems of the poor and vulnerable.
