THE Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority (PPDA) is to develop a new audit strategy, the public relations officer, Dorah Egunyu, has said She said the new system, once approved, would streamline follow-up mechanisms on audit reports issued to entities and address the implementation gap on audit recommendations made by PPDA.
Egunyu said the revision of the follow-up mechanism would also promote compliance to PPDA audit recommendations.
She said the current follow-up system had follow-ups shared between a numerous anti-corruption agencies.
These include the Inspector General of Government, the Auditor General, the Accountant General, the finance ministry.
Egunyu said the audit manual would be operational by the end of this year. â€œIt is supposed to be cleared by the board before the year ends. That is when it will be operationalised.â€
PPDA has hired AH Consulting agency for the work.
