AFRICA light middleweight champion Badru “Mr Crush†Lusambya has moved two steps to number 18 in the latest WBC boxing ratings.
Lusambya, who was rated 20th in the last rankings, has moved up even after staying inactive for four months. The undefeated continental champion is slated to fight Lawrence Ngobeni of South Africa August 4 in a Commonwealth tune fight.
Uganda’s other flag bearers in the WBC listings made no significant moves.
Former International Boxing Federation junior middleweight champion Kassim “The Dream†Ouma dropped from five to six in the super welterweight division.
WBC heavyweight challenger Peter “Ishimaru†Okhello dropped seven places from 25 to 32.
Commonwealth featherweight champion Jackson “Action†Asiku, who could be stripped of his title unless he conducts a defence, has dropped further from 31 to 32 in the featherweight class.
Several local professional boxers are lined for lucrative title fights later this year with Lusambya and Asiku topping the bill.
