The health of the Second Deputy Prime Minister, Al-haji Kirunda Kivejinja, has stabilised at Mulago Hospital, his nephew, Prof. Wasswa Balunywa, who is the principal of Makerere University Business School, has said.

"He is much better now, but given his age, we were worried over his condition when he was taken to hospital at 2:00 am on Sunday.

He is suffering from diabetes, but malaria complicated it," he said.

Balunywa said the 85-year-old minister was outside Kampala for some official duty when his condition deteriorated.

"When President Yoweri Museveni found out about it, he directed that he should be taken to Mulago Hospital. But he does not have COVID-19. Let us pray and continue to pray for his good health," he said.
