Mayambala fails to show up in Nebbi

NEBBI - Independent Presidential Candidate, Willy Mayambala didn't show up in Nebbi district for his campaign on Wednesday.

According to the Electoral Commission programme, Mayambala was expected to hold a rally in Nebbi.

By 6 pm, there was no sign of him let alone his posters being around Nebbi town.

Several voters in the town said they were not aware of the programme.

"This is news, we don't know much about him," said Alice Akello, a voter in Nebbi town.

James Owachigu, a voter who has been following Mayambala said, he expected to see him. 

"Though he looks more of a comedian, I was still going to listen to him, but he didn't come, Owachigu said.

It's not clear why Mayambala didn't turn up for the campaign. Efforts to get a word from him proved futile.
