Former Mbarara district Khad Kamisi is dead

Former Mbarara district Khad Sheik Ramadhan Kamisi also known as Kadidi has died at Mbarara regional referral hospital.

The Muslim community, friends, and relatives have gathered at Kamisi's home to mourn the death of a strong pillar.

Abdukarim Abdallah Katamba, the Regional Khad for Ankole and Kigezi has confirmed the death of Kamisi that occurred Wednesday morning. He said he last saw him three days ago at a burial of their colleague in Ruti.

"While at the burial, he said he was feeling unwell and asked me to take him home," said Katamba.

He added that he first sought treatment at a clinic in Nsikye, Ruti in Mbarara town and later went to Mayanja memorial hospital where they carried out a number of tests that turned out negative.

"He later went to Mbarara regional referral hospital where he was pronounced dead this morning, " said Katamba.

He said the Muslim community has lost a strong pillar who has served Islam for a long period of time.
