The FDC leader said that the combination has given the government and President Museveni sleepless nights

The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential flag bearer, Patrick Oboi Amuriat has said that once elected president will appoint Col Dr Kiiza Besigye his chief advisor.

Amuriat made the remarks on Monday while addressing FDC supporters at Kikongi and Bikurungu in Bwambara sub-county.

He entered Rukungiri district from Kanungu at 3:32 pm. MPs Fred Turyamuhweza of Rujumbura and district woman MP Betty Muzanira received him and his entourage at Ntungwa bridge that borders Rukungiri and Kanungu.

"I agreed with Kiiza Besigye that he keep organising for plan B and I contest for the presidency but I consult him every day for advice in whatever I'm doing," he said.

Amuriat added that his combination with Besigye has given the government and President Yoweri Museveni sleepless nights.

"You see this Police and army that is following me wherever I go; it's because the government fears my combination with Besigye," he said.

About five Police pickup trucks accompanied Amuriat from Kanungu to Rukungiri.

His address in Bikurungu Town Council was disrupted by a heavy downpour which prompted him to break his speech.

"Before I go back to my car because of the rain, I want to tell you one thing about President Museveni. It is like a rat, he eats you in bits while making you sleep so that he can eat the whole of you," he said.

Amuriat urged the people of Rukungiri to beware of the lies of the current government.

He said Rukungiri needs a district hospital and a public university which they have been crying out for for many years and that he will fulfil all the needs of the people of Rukungiri once elected president

Besigye joined Amuriat's entourage in Bugangari but planned stopovers at Bugangarai, Nyakariro, Rwerere, and Kasoroza because of the downpour so as to address a major rally at Rukungiri main stadium.

Amuriat and Besigye reached Rukungiri town at 5:22 pm where a big gathering was waiting but the Police stopped the rally from going ahead because the numbers exceeded the accepted number.

The rally didn't go ahead after the Police dispersed the crowd with live bullets and teargas.
