Police to train SPCs as election officials

The successful candidates will report to their training venues, for a period of two weeks. The training will be conducted in a phased manner.

Selected Special Police Constable are set to be sent on a two-weeks training as Election Officials.

The successful candidates will report to their training venues, for a period of two weeks.  The training will be conducted in a phased manner.

All candidates can now view their names at the respective divisional/district Police Headquarters.

The statement released by the Police Spokesperson, Fred Enanga, says the first phase will begin from the November 29, 2020 to the December 11, 2020 and will include successful candidates from Kampala Metropolitan Police, Central and Western Regions. 

Enanga adds, "These are KMP/East, KMP/North, KMP/South, Savannah, Katonga, Wamala, Greater Masaka, Kigezi, Greater Bushenyi, Rwizi, Rwenzori East, and Albertine."

Enanga says that the second phase will begin from the December 16, 2020 to the December 29, 2020 in the Northern and Eastern Regions of Mt. Moroto, Kidepo, East Kyoga, North Kyoga, Aswa, West Nile, North West Nile, Elgon, Bukedi North, Bukedi South, Siipi, Busoga East, Busoga North, Kiira and Ssezibwa.

Enanga says, "All candidates shall undergo thorough screening processes for COVID-19 symptoms and taken through the COVID-19 awareness and safety precautions."

They are also required to report to the training venues with personal effects to include; mattresses, mosquito nets, sportswear, gumboots, canvas shoes and cutlery.

In his message, Enanga says, "The IGP would like to congratulate all applicants who qualified as Election SPCs in the recently concluded recruitment across the county."
