With just one day left after Friday, the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) says some schools have not yet shown up for registration.

Uganda National Examinations Board says, "Out of the 13, 966 Primary Leaving Examination Centres, over 9O% have at least registered their candidates, while over 85% of the 3,640 Centres for Uganda Certificate of Education centres have registered."

At the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education level, UNEB says registration stands at over 77% of the 2,164 Centres.

"We, therefore, urge the remaining centres to submit the registration data of their candidates within the remaining days, as there will be no room for late registration," Dan Odongo, the Executive Director of UNEB says, in a statement issued on Friday morning.

He adds, "UNEB would like to make a last call to heads of examination centres as well as parents to register all the candidates for PLE, UCE and UACE by Monday 30,2020. We would also like to thank those centres that have registered the candidates' We have received positive response from all the districts."

He adds, "Head teachers that have registered are encouraged to download the generated draft registers and photo albums and avail them to all concerned (students and/or parents) to do another round of thorough checking to eliminate any errors."

"Once errors are identified, they should be corrected and uploaded accordingly following the laid out procedure of uploading amendments. Centres that are yet to submit their registration data should equally ensure that the candidates verify the information and sign against their names as confirmation of the correctness of their registration details," says Odongo.

He adds, "It is important to critically examine and look out for errors in Names of Candidates- Spellings and order of names, photos of candidates to ensure they are not mismatched, Gender, Date and Year of birth, Funding Code, Entry Code as well as the candidates' Institutional Choices."

Students started registering for Uganda National Examinations on October 22.

The Schools Calendar shows that the briefing of students will be on February 26, and the Uganda Certificate of Education examinations will start on March 1, 2021, to April 6, 2021.

Odongo explained that the briefing of candidates in Primary Seven will be on March 26 and they will later sit for their examinations on March 30 and March 31, 2021.

Briefing for Senior Six candidates will follow on April 9 and they will sit for examinations from April 12 to May 3, 20121.
