Amuriat mourns supporters, pays hospital bills for accident victims

The deceased were identified as Zulaika Yasin, 25, a resident of Nebbi Municipality, and Hellen Picho, a Nebbi Municipality councillor.

Forum for Democratic for Democratic Change presidential flag bearer Patrick Oboi Amuriat, sympathised with the families of his supporters who lost their lives in an accident while heading to his campaign venue.

He also attended the vigil of the two families that lost their loved ones.

Two of his supporters perished in a car accident on Tuesday, November 24, afternoon, at Kimor village, Panyamur Town Council in Pakwach district after a truck registration number UBB 856W that was carrying supporters as well as a public address system overturned at a notorious accident blackspot.

The deceased were identified as Zulaika Yasin, 25, a resident of Nebbi Municipality, and Hellen Picho, a Nebbi Municipality councillor.

 

Anuriat agreed to meet all the burial expenses, and also laboured to pay medical bills for all the victims who are still fighting for their lives in Nebbi General Hospital and Angal St.Luke hospital.

Two of the victims who were severely injured, were last night referred to Lacor hospital in Gulu and three in Arua, while seven others whose x-ray results have not yet been determined are still being monitored in Nebbi, at Angal St.Luke hospital and Nebbi General Hospital.

Amuriat, left Nebbi this morning and headed to Bunyoro to resume with his campaign trail, where he is expected to traverse Kiryandongo and Masindi districts.
