National Unity Platform presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi has condemned the use teargas in the campaigns.

Kyagulanyi said once elected president, money spent on teargas will be diverted to stock hospitals with drugs and ambulances to save the 17 pregnant mothers who die daily in Uganda due to pregnancy related complications.

"In Fort Portal, it was a hailstorm of bullets and teargas as the Police and the military tried to prevent people from coming out to listen to our message. Despite all this, many people weathered the storm and turned up. Thank you. Uganda is ready for change," Kyagulanyi said.

Police fired teargas in Kyegobe where Kyagulanyi held a rally.

"We shall not be intimidated. Our only crime is the support and love from a big number of Ugandans. They have now deployed a mobile prison whenever I go. I don't care," Kyagulanyi said.

Kyagulanyi today heads to Kasese and Bunyangabu.
