Daudi Okello and the Hyundai Capital Skywalkers are surviving on a wing and a prayer after three vital players were traded in the middle of the Korean Volleyball League season.

The move has seen the Skywalkers lose all of their matchups in the last month and to cut a long story short, they have been on a six-game losing streak.

For a side that was challenging for the league a few weeks ago, the idea of trading three vital players after the first round and losing one to mandatory military service is lackadaisical but it is what it is.

"Three key players were traded away and one went to do mandatory military duty. So they are building the team again from young and new players," Okello said.

Instantly, the responsibility is on him to perform because he now is the leader of the team literally. With the arrival of new players it may take a few more matches for them to gel but what Okello has in spades is a hunger for success and the desire to see his team rise back to the top.

Priorities have clearly shifted from winning the league for now, to a rebuild in the shortest amount of time possible.

At the moment, Okello is ready for the challenge and to push the team as far as they can go.
