Riots death toll grows to 45

In a tweet this morning (Monday), Police says, “It is very unfortunate that the riots have so far claimed 45 lives, which included 39 male adults and 06 women, whom fall in the age bracket of 25-40.”

KAMPALA - The death toll related to riots which rocked the country last week, has risen from 30 as of the Friday last week to 45; police has confirmed.

Riots and looting broke out in the country last week, in various towns, after the arrest of National Unity Platform Party's Robert Kyagulanyi, and Patrick Amuriat of the Forum for Democratic Change. The two are all candidates in the race for the President's seat.
Kyagulanyi and Amuriat were arrested on Wednesday last week; on allegations of having breached guidelines for the COVID-19 on their campaign rallies.
