BUNDIBUGYO - According to presidential candidate Gen Henry Tumukunde's campaign schedule, he is expected to campaign in Bundibugyo district and later own head to Ntoroko district.

Police in Bundibugyo has deployed heavily in anticipation of Tumukunde. The deployment is meant to enforce law and order and also to ensure the Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) are maintained.

Recap on Fort Portal campaign

On Tuesday, Tumukunde was in Fort Portal city. With a heavy deployment of security personnel in the city, he was unable to traverse the city to look for votes.

John Faustine Oese, the Kabarole District Police Commander (DPC) allowed him only two rallies, one at Booma grounds in the city and the other in Kijura town council to address supporters from Kabarole district.

Tumukunde sneaked to his own campaign rally in a Toyota Spacio. He arrived before his convoy and walked amidst his supporters.

He said many of his supporters were intimidated by the Police and other security agencies.

The presidential candidate also launched his manifesto in Fort Portal.

In his message to Fort Portal residents, Tumukunde said he will emphasize tea and banana processing stressing that many of the farmers are incurring losses because they don't add value to their products.
