KAMPALA - The presidential campaign programme of incumbent President Yoweri Museveni of National Resistance Movement (NRM) and that of Eng. Patrick Amuriat of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has clashed.

According to the campaign programme of the Electoral Commission (EC), both Museveni and Amuriat are supposed to be in Kitgum on Tuesday next week.

NRM secretary general Justine Kasule Lumumba told the media at the party headquarters in Kampala on Sunday (November 15, 2020) that she had already telephoned EC for harmonization.

"It is true on November 17th our candidate is supposed to be in Kitgum but at the same time, Amuriat is supposed to be in Kitgum and Lamwo. I made phone calls but I am now going to write to EC officially so that this is harmonized and we don't clash," she said.

Lumumba, however, hastened to add that since they were the first to submit their campaign programme to the EC for harmonization, they should be left to continue with Kitgum.

"Nevertheless we shall wait for EC's communication. But also as peace-loving NRM members, we will not get to the level where we can clash," she said.

Efforts to get a comment from EC were futile by the time of filing this story.
