The Commissioner General of Prisons Dr. John Byabashaija has postponed the recruitment of warders and wardresses.

Following an advert for recruitment of warders/wardresses in Uganda Prisons Service which appeared in The New Vision of August 10, 2020, other local newspapers and subsequent applications by prospective candidates, interviews for the shortlisted candidates were scheduled to be conducted in respective regions from mid this month.

The recruitment was supposed to be between November 16 to 21 this year; according to a statement signed by D. Ahimbisibwe, on Byabashaija's behalf.

But the Commissioner General of Prisons says, "Interviews have been postponed due to unforeseen circumstances. Another date for the interviews will be communicated later."
