MBARARA - The Police and UPDF, led by DPC John Rutaagira have had running battles with bodaboda riders who had gathered at Koranorya trading centre to welcome Gen. Henry Tumukunde as he proceeds to address his supporters at Kakyeka Stadium.

Tumukunde was set to address his supporters at Booma grounds but the Mbarara resident district commissioner, Lt. Col. James Mwesigye advised that they use Kakyeka Stadium.

Rutaagira said they will not allow Tumukunde to access Mbarara city centre.

Security has been beefed up to contain the block and procession in the city centre.

Rutaagira said they will not allow Tumukunde to access Mbarara city centre and advised his team to use Mbarara bypass then Kyamugora, join Ntare road to Kakyeka.

However, Tumukunde's team insisted that they will have to go through Mbarara city centre, prompting the Police to mount several roadblocks between the Coca-Cola roundabout and Ntare road.
