Presidential candidates comb new areas today

Museveni will be returning to a district that gave him 65.86% (72,505) of its votes in the 2016 elections.

President Yoweri Museveni will today head to Nebbi on his campaign trail as he seeks to be re-elected to the country's topmost seat.

Museveni, the National Resistance Movement flag bearer, will be returning to a district that gave him 65.86% (72,505) of its votes in the 2016 elections. Nebbi is located in the West Nile sub-region, south-east of Arua City.

Meanwhile, Robert Kyagulanyi of the National Unity Platform, who is expected in Kaabong, Kotido, and Moroto today, will for the first time as a politician enter this Karamoja sub-region to canvass for votes. 

The region, located in the northeast of Uganda, is the poorest and least developed in the country. It is comprised of seven districts: Kaabong, Abim, Kotido, Moroto, Napak, Nakapiripirit, and Amudat.

Other presidential contenders such as Nobert Mao of the Democratic Party, is in Kasese on his first day of the campaign trail. Other candidates like Henry Tumukunde will be in Mbarara, Kiruhura, Kazo, and Ibanda. Patrick Amuriat of the Forum for Democratic Change is expected in Amolator, Dokolo, and Alebtong.
 
Fred Mwesigye, an Independent, will remain in Kampala, where he seems set to remain for the next two months according to the Electoral Commission's schedule; which he consented to. 
 
John Katumba, another Independent, is expected in Moyo, Adjumani, and Amuru and Willy Mayambala (Independent) is anticipated to be in Bukomansibi, Butambala, and Kalungu. Mugisha Muntu under National Transformation (ANT) is expected to campaign in Rubirizi, Bushenyi, and Sheema. 

Joseph Kabuleta, another Independent, is scheduled to be in Moyo and Adjumani while Nancy Kalembe (Independent) is scheduled to be in Kapchorwa, Bukwo, and Kween.
