Rush for COVID tests in West Nile as NRM flag bearers prepare to meet Museveni

Patrick Arionzi the NRM administrative secretary of Madi Okollo, said President Museveni will be in Arua to meet the flag-bearers and delegates before proceeding to Adjumani.

NRM members in West Nile and selected journalists from various media houses rushed to test for COVID-19 as a requirement to meet President Museveni.

The testing sample collection that started on Tuesday November 10 and proceeded to Wednesday November 11 at the District Health Officer's yard, saw a number of NRM flag-bearers and delegates with some supporters and journalists, rush for the test.

The NRM members from Arua, and the districts of Madi Okollo, and Terego said the procedure would prevent the spread of the disease.

He said the COVID-19 tests were for all the flag bearers in Arua and Madi Okollo; and journalists and security officers who will have access to attend the presidential visit.

Sam Ndaa, the LC3 chairperson of Dadamu in Arua, said they have been called to test as a requirement to meet the President and their NRM Presidential candidate as he launches his campaigns in West Nile.

Ndaa said those who tested negative will be issued with a certificate indicating they are COVID-free, which will see them attend the Presidential meeting.

He said they received communication through the office of Resident City Commissioner (RCC) of Arua to undergo the tests.

The President is expected to address the delegates in Muni University, according to the RCC, Nahori Oyaa Awua.
