Independent presidential candidate John Katumba has promised to establish an international airport for West Nile in Arua and improve the state of roads.

Katumba says, the people of West Nile only have road transport yet an international airport and good roads would ease means of transport for the people.

He said, besides the airfield and road transport, west Nile deserves an electric train that eases the transport system for the people to conduct business.

What voters want?

Hassan Brahan said he understands the problems of Arua which President Museveni has not addressed especially for the youth. He said West Nile has the capacity to have an international airport but its development has been delayed.

Brahan is optimistic that a youthful President will take over the statehouse job come 2021. He said many youth have registered to vote in the forthcoming elections unless their names are deleted from the voter's register.

Glover Adu said he has been waiting for his presidential candidate Katumba. According to Adu, most politicians are dictatorial and do not listen to their demands.

He said the issue of power exportation abroad cripples development in the country. Adu also complained of the cost of operation resulting from high cost of transport and taxes.

We are the center for development and growth but we have been abandoned

Isaac Atibuni, a resident of Arua City says, Katumba has a future plan for the youth. He said, the youth need a boost in sports and once sports activities are supported, it improves talent and development for the West Nile region.

I know Katumba will make it but once he becomes President, he should upgrade Arua airfield into an international airport. As bodaboda riders, we shall get jobs in ferrying passengers who use planes.
