“I will be forever grateful to you. You have shown the party love. Please let us ensure we mobilize and turn up in large numbers on January 14 and let’s vote for President Museveni in the general elections,” Among said.

Bukedea Woman Member of Parliament, Anite Among, who was declared unopposed and gazetted by the Electoral Commission (EC) last week has officially launched the President Yoweri Museveni campaign task force team.

The team will spear head the search for the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Presidential contestant in the 2021 general elections votes in the district.

The NRM Vice Chairman for Easter Region, Mike Mukula, was the chief guest in the function held at Kachumbala Sub County, Kolir Sub County and Bukedea town Council that saw the party hand over bicycles to the village chairpersons.

The Anite Foundation also donated delivery and admission beds to the Government hospitals.

Hospitals that benefitted included Kachumbala, Kolir, Malera, Kidongole health center 3 and Bukedea hospital.

Speaking at the function, Among who has just served her first term in Parliament noted that she was forever grateful to the people of Bukedea for the support they had shown her and the party.

"I will be forever grateful to you. You have shown the party love. Please let us ensure we mobilize and turn up in large numbers on January 14 and let's vote for President Museveni in the general elections," Among said.

In an interview with the New Vision she denied claims that her act of donating beds was voter rigging noting that her elections were already done given the fact that she was unopposed.

Anita Foundation has also constructed schools, technical centers, aided in the construction of mosques, supported women help groups, and sponsored the needy in education among others.

In August this year, Museveni flagged off 68,000 bicycles to aid the mobilization activities by the ruling NRM party in villages across the country.

Museveni said that the bicycles were procured from contributions by party members and added that they are also making arrangements to procure motorcycles for the NRM sub-county chairpersons and later on vehicles for the NRM district chairpersons.
