Nuwamanya said they have limited numbers to attend the launch which he said will last for just one hour.

"Tumukunde is the only candidate born in Rukungiri, and he is expected to enjoy maximum support in the district," Nuwamanya said.

Tumukunde's son, Amanya Tumukunde who is also contesting for the Rukungiri municipality seat is wooing Boda-Boda cyclists to rally support for his father, as he enters the town.

On the other hand, LC3 chairperson, Southern Division, Alban Kiconco alleges that Tumukunde cannot get good reception in Rukungiri, accusing him of utterances he once made about Kiiza Besigye.

"In 2006, Tumukunde told people in this town that Besigye would never lead Uganda as long as him and President Yoweri Museveni are still alive," Kiconco alleged.
