Amuriat team advised to get an alternative venue for campaign launch
The Police in Soroti have blocked Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential candidate, Patrick Amuriat, from holding a campaign launch at Soroti Sports Ground, arguing that the facility is located next to an isolation centre that has COVID-19 patients.
A letter by Maxwell Onen Ogwal, the Zonal Police Commander for East Kyoga, said the venue was not suitable because it is adjacent to a referral hospital that has COVID-19 patients. See the full letter below.
Paul Omer, the manager of Amuriat, later sought the intervention of the returning officer, Charles Egimu who advised FDC to comply with the Police and get an alternative venue.
