Kasozi bounces back on Safari Tour

Oct 29, 2020

He made the cut at six of the 11 events in the 2019-2020 season

Professional Ugandan golfer Phillip Kasozi finally rose to the occasion as he made the cut during the fourth leg of the Safari Tour Golf Tournament at Sigona Golf Club in Nairobi on Wednesday.

Having missed on the cash in the opening three tournaments at Limuru, Royal Nairobi, and Vetlab Golf Clubs, Kasozi this time was not to be left out as he made a good start with a one-over-par 73 in the opening round.

He followed it up with a uniform five-over 77 in the next three rounds to make the cut with a total gross score of 304 and pick a sh500,000 cheque.

Kasozi who was Uganda's best at the first two Safari Tour seasons, finishing with 208.5 points after making the cut at six of the 11 events in the 2019-2020 season should now find enough inspiration to perform even better in the subsequent events including at his home course-Kitante, December 3-6.

Kenyan golfer David Wakhu won the Sigona leg with a total gross score of 287 and picking sh5m, beating Dismas Indiza, Erick Ooko, and Edwin Inana Asuza who tied for second; three strokes away.
