Rajiv Ruparelia, Ssebuguzi join Uganda Motor Economy tour

Three-time National Rally Champion Ronald Ssebuguzi and rising star Rajiv Ruparelia have registered for the tour.

Top Ugandan rally drivers have joined the 2020 Uganda Motor Economy Tour next month organised by United Motorsport Club (UMOSPOC) and Enduro Club on November 20 to 22.

Three-time National Rally Champion Ronald Ssebuguzi and rising star Rajiv Ruparelia have registered for the tour.

"We have got a positive response and Rajiv and Ssebuguzi put in their entry which is good that even their sponsors are likely to join them," COC Justin Mungoma confirmed.

"At the moment, we have 20 entries including the Worldwide Movers team and Godfrey commonly known as Tollman in the motorsport circles."

Lubega is known for being the only NRC driver that finished the inaugural UMOSPOC Kabalega rally in 2016.

The three-day adventure tour is meant to promote domestic tourism in the country and will cover the western region.

On day one, participants will cover a distance from Kampala- Kapeka- Hoima- Kabwoya Game Reserve and spend an overnight in Hoima.

They will then cover Hoima - Kagadi- Kyenjojo- Fort Portal - Bundibugyo (Semuliki National Park and Sempaya Hot springs) and spend an overnight in Fort Portal on day two.

The final day will cover the areas of Fort Portal - Kasese - Kazinga channel- Queen Elizabeth National Park - Ishaka escapement- Bushenyi and end in Mbarara.

He urged the motorsport fraternity and all Ugandans to embrace the project because it promotes domestic tourism which is education to all.
