A new dawn will arise with the start of the T20 Uganda Elite League set for October 25-31 at the Lugogo Cricket Oval.

Three teams auctioned off IPL style with an embarrassment of old and young talent that will line up in Lugogo for the must-watch event.

The include Aziz Damani Scorpions purchased by Siva Koti at sh5m, Royal Varsani Bucks purchased by Tulsi Varsani also at sh5m while Metro Challengers Mambas went to Vaheen Muhammed for only sh4.5m. The teams will see players camped in a bubble in Namirembe for the entire duration of the seven-day tournament.

"I'm very excited about the league because it's something we've been trying to get off the ground for some years. Having your best players playing more regularly against each is a good thing," Cricket Cranes Captain Brian Masaba said.

The teams each received last season's top performers from the league, plus the emerging players that went on the Qatar/India tour at the start of the year, and select U19 prospects were shared amongst the three teams.

All Games will take place at the Lugogo Cricket Oval with two matches played daily. The matches will be live-streamed because there will be no fans allowed at the oval.
