U17 women's team coach recovers from COVID-19

Uganda U17 national team Ayub Khalifa Kiyingi has been cleared to return to conducting the side's training sessions ahead of the doubleheader against Cameroon in the final round of the 2020 FIFA U17 Women Cup qualifiers.

"Having been tested positive for COVID-19 and gone into self-isolation with the guidance of the medics, I have now fully recovered and proven negative after undergoing further tests. I have been cleared to continue with my daily chores. I will now rejoin the national U17 women camp," stated Kiyingi.

The final round of the World Cup qualifier against Cameroon was initially supposed to be played in May but due to the coronavirus pandemic, CAF decided to postpone the qualifier.

According to CAF, the first leg will be played on October 31 while the return leg will take place on November 21 with the winner making it to finals in India.

Uganda who are playing the qualifiers for the first time will host the first leg before travelling to Yaoundé for the return leg.

Uganda eliminated Tanzania 6-2 on aggregate to qualify for the final round of the qualifiers while Cameroon ejected São Tomé and Príncipe 10-0 on aggregate.
