EC kicks off nominations for Members of Parliament today

The returning officer Kampala district Electoral Commission, Fredrick Muwaya, has cautioned candidates vying for Parliamentary Seats in Kampala to avoid moving with crowds for nomination that starts today.
  
Muwaya said that over 67 candidates have submitted their requirements for nomination and each candidate will be allowed a maximum of four people at the nomination venue to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Muwaya has asked aspiring candidates to keep time to enable them to finish the exercise within two days as planned by the commission.

Meanwhile, the Police are to beef up security at different nomination centres countrywide as the Electoral Commission kicks off nominations for Members of Parliament.
  
The nominations start today through Friday across the entire country.
 
Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango has asked the aspirants and their supporters to follow the guidelines issued by the Electoral Commission.
