Believe, Miya tells Cranes new boys

Miya who finished last season on a high with his Turkish side Konyaspor believes it was necessary to have the taining camp before the resumption of the qualifiers.

Uganda Cranes attacking midfielder Miya Farouk has called on the new players on the team to believe in themselves since they have the potential to excel.

Miya was speaking at the just concluded training camp in Dubai where the players managed to bond in preparation for the resumption of 2021 AFCON Qualifiers

"By the time you are called to the national team, it means you can do it. We are all the same and we just need to be together to represent our country. You have the potential to excel, it's just a matter of working hard," Miya said.

Miya who finished last season on a high with his Turkish side Konyaspor believes it was necessary to have the taining camp before the resumption of the qualifiers.

However, apart from captain Dennis Onyango and striker Derrick Nsibambi who had earlier been summoned for the camp but decided not to travel due to personal reasons, the rest of the players called to take part in the camp which ended on Monday.

A 26 man Uganda Cranes contingent composed of players and officials on Tuesday morning returned from Dubai aboard Dubai Airlines following a successful five days training camp.

Cranes will play a double-header against South Sudan which between November 9th and 17th.

The game against South Sudan was supposed to be played in March, but it was postponed due to the pandemic that has hit different sectors worldwide.

Cranes top Group B with four points from two games followed by Burkina Faso, Malawi in third, while South Sudan at the bottom, have a chance to make it to their third consecutive finals.
