Oct 14, 2020

Bagalana shot a second-round four-under 76, one stroke more than his first-round score.

Abbey Bagalana will be aiming to make the best of his chances in the remaining rounds after making the cut for the first time during the second leg of the Safari Tour at the Royal Nairobi Golf Course on Tuesday.

Bagalana shot a second-round four-under 76, one stroke more than his first-round score, for a total of 151 gross to make the cut for the first time on the annual tour tournaments where East Africa's professionals get a chance to earn from the sport.

He is now among the 24 pros that will partake on the sh36m prize money at stake in the second leg of the tour which is the second in a series of tournaments that will constitute the 2020/21 Safari Tour.

Having missed the cut at Limuru last weekend, Bagalana should now be fired up to improve further in order to pick a decent cheque, to re-pay for his consistency in the championship over the last two seasons.

Another Ugandan professional Phillip Kasozi who has been the best Ugandan on the tour from last season, but was participating for the first time this season, missed the cut by six strokes.

Last season's top player Greg Snow who also won the Limuru leg is in the lead tied with Erick Ooko on 142 gross, going into the third round of the event that ends on Thursday.
