MoES hands over learning kits

The Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES) has handed over six educational content creation electronic learning kits to Primary, National teacher colleges and universities with the aim of continuing teaching and learning.

The Director Education Standards, Dr Kedrace Turyagyenda, handled over the equipment worthy 40,000 US Dollars which included cameras and recorders at the ceremony that was held at Shimon Primary teaching colleague in Wakiso district.

She said the equipment donated by the Islamic education and science organisation is meant to bridge the learning gap which was created by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Among the beneficiaries was Islamic University Mbale branch, Shimon Primary teaching colleague and the SESEMAT institution at Ntale high School in Mbarara and some universities in the West Nile.

The beneficiaries will act as hubs to generate teaching content for the universities and teaching colleagues within their regions.

"All Universities within the Eastern region will have to do audio and video recordings of the education content for students from the hub stationed at IUIU," she said.

However, Turyagyenda pointed out the need of equiping teachers with  ICT and pedagogy skills to cope up with the technology of teaching.
