During the unveiling, Lukwago asked for a KCCA museum, next after achieving the monument.

Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA),  heads including Executive Director Dorothy Kisaka, Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago, and conservationist leaders from the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) including Sam Mwandha, the ED, and Chairman Board of Directors Dr. Panta Leon Mukasa Banda Kasoma, unveiled the Impala monument, an animal from which Kampala got her name.

During the unveiling, Lukwago asked for a KCCA museum, next after achieving the monument.

He had earlier rejected the site where the Impala monument was erected, on the property of Jubilee building opposite KCCA, saying it is private property, yet the monument is a public asset.

However, there was assurance from the property owners who said that they hold the monument dearly and will have it maintained.
