Kansai Plascon Uganda has launched its annual Plascon Paint and Win promotion.

The promotion, now in its ninth year started on Thursday and ends on December 13, 2020, as part of an initiative to build relationships across the country.

This year's theme aims to reward loyal customers of Plascon while appreciating the resilience shown by Ugandans during a difficult year impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Managing director, Santosh Gumte said during the launch that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused devastation to many people from all walks of life.

"Painters have been greatly affected by the last few months and we hope that a promotion like this can reward painters who are key in the paint industry.  The Paint and Win promotion this year aims to raise hope and give cash prizes at a time of the year when people need it most," he said.

Dubbed the Colour of Hope edition, this year's promotion is worth sh1.5b and sh110m is to be won in daily and weekly cash prizes, sh400m in promotional items, and sh400m worth of airtime,

Plascon Marketing Manager East Africa, Tyron Immelmann said there is sh1m to be won six days per week for the duration of the campaign.

To enter the draw one is required to buy Plascon paint worth sh100,000 or more, and get a scratch card from the dealer and SMS the code to 7197 to stand a chance to win sh1m every day. Daily winners will also get a chance to compete for an extra share of sh5,000,000 - an increase from last year, through weekly TV engagements on NBS and Bukedde TV," said Immelmann.

Marketing Coordinator Daniel Kayongo added, "As was done last year, the promotion will also have a CSR angle with a budget of 50 million shillings."

This year our focus is giving hope to expectant mothers and maternity wards in various Community Health Centers across the regions.

"There have been various steps taken to alleviate the high maternal mortality rate in the country and we would like to be part of these efforts. Through an online activation on our social media channels, we shall ask the public to take part in deciding the three regional hospitals we can reach out to," he said.
