On Thursday, Ruparelia Foundation donated 240 hampers to the children at the pediatric ward at Mulago Hospital.

Joy Awori is one of the children admitted at Mulago Hospital.

The five-year-old girl is has severe malaria. Her mother Annet Alongoti, 30, and a resident of Kawala, Wakiso district said that her daughter's condition started deteriorating last week.

Alongoti said she could not figure out that her daughter had malaria until when she was diagnosed.

The little girl was first admitted to hospital, but the parents have struggled to provide the suppliers needed for use while at Mulago until Ruparelia Foundation came to their rescue.

While handing over the hampers, Naiya Ruparelia, the Foundation trustee said the activity was done to basically put a smile on these children's faces.

"They are very strong children, it's amazing and some are really strongly fighting for their lives. We admire their strength and hope that they get well soon" Naiya said.

She also noted that the foundation has been carrying out this activity quarterly but hopes to do it monthly once they get more donations from their partners.
