The documents of  Mbale city mayor aspirant Godfrey Wanyama were stolen from his car, just a day to his nomination date.

Wanyama said a certain boy broke into his car and stole an envelope that contained all the documents that he requires to be nominated.

"The envelope had all the documents including my academic papers. My biggest challenge has been collecting the 50 signatures from 14 sub-counties in a period of just two days," he added.

Wanyama noted that the boy accessed his car on Tuesday while he had parked it on the street in Mbale city.

He said Thursday being the closing day for the nomination, he tried as much as possible and got all the signatures but by press time he had not completed the nomination process.

Wanyama said he suspects that the move could have been made by his opponents so that he could not get nominated yet he has many supporters.
